When Will You Come

"It was a strange week the week I wrote this song. It really did feel like the world was getting ready to end to me. There really was a lunar eclipse on a major Jewish holiday, and the whole bit with the fireflies literally covering about a 1/4 mile stretch of trees one night when we were driving back from my Mom's house. It felt like they were shining just for us." - K.S.
Verse 1:
The trees were filled with fireflies;
They lit up the leaves and filled my eyes.
I said "This is it, this is the night He will come",
but the night grew dark and it stung.
Chorus:
When will you come?
I've been waiting for you the Son to come on the clouds with trumpets so loud...
Oh, when will you come?
Verse 2:
The moon eclipsed before my eyes, it was the night of a major feast.
I stood on the porch and faced east, and when you didn't come I just went to sleep. (CH)
Bridge:
Some ones I love they sleep in you, and when I sleep I see them too.
But, when I wake I long to see, see with their eyes and what they see. (CH)
